The South Korea Grading System Explained

South Korea uses A+ (4.5), A (4.0), B+ (3.5), B (3.0), C+ (2.5), C (2.0), D+ (1.5), D (1.0), F (0).

Korean finals (기말고사) split grade weight roughly evenly with mid-terms (중간고사). Relative grading at many schools means class rank matters.

Quick Example (35% final): 80% current → Need >100% for top grade  |  Need 80.0% for merit/good grade.
Korean universities are highly competitive; relative grading means your raw score is compared to classmates.
