How Final Grades Work Weighted Grade Calculator

Weighted grading means different course components count for different percentages. Your current grade for this calculator should be the weighted average of all components completed so far, excluding the final. Your gradebook running total already reflects this.

Always start from your running overall grade in the gradebook - it accounts for all components. Then enter the final exam weight from your syllabus.
Lower your target and recalculate. Also check for extra credit, incomplete grade policies, or withdrawal options before the deadline.
Required Score = (Target Grade - Current Grade x (1 - Final Weight)) / Final Weight. Example at 30% final, 80% current, 90% target: (90 - 80 x 0.7) / 0.3 = >100%.
