Understanding AP Chemistry Grade Calculations
There are two separate assessments in AP courses: your classroom grade (what this calculator addresses) and the AP exam in May (scored 1-5 by College Board). These are graded entirely separately.
AP Chemistry is one of the most demanding AP courses; the classroom final typically mirrors the AP exam format. Classroom finals typically cover: thermodynamics, kinetics, equilibrium, electrochemistry, and molecular structure. The weight is usually 35-45% of your course grade — verify with your teacher's syllabus.
