Understanding AP Physics C Grade Calculations
There are two separate assessments in AP courses: your classroom grade (what this calculator addresses) and the AP exam in May (scored 1-5 by College Board). These are graded entirely separately.
AP Physics C (Mechanics and E&M) are calculus-based and among the most rigorous AP exams. Classroom finals typically cover: calculus-based mechanics and electricity and magnetism. The weight is usually 40-50% of your course grade — verify with your teacher's syllabus.

How to Study for the AP Physics C Classroom Final
Know how to apply calculus to physics - integration and differentiation of physical quantities is core. Additional strategies:
- Use College Board released materials. Classroom finals in AP courses closely follow AP exam format. Past FRQs from
apstudents.collegeboard.orgare your best practice resource. - Know the format precisely. Most AP classroom finals mirror the actual AP exam format: multiple choice + free response. Being fast and accurate on multiple choice is a distinct skill.
- Review every unit consistently. AP finals are comprehensive. Do not study only recent material.
