Understanding AP Physics 1 Grade Calculations
There are two separate assessments in AP courses: your classroom grade (what this calculator addresses) and the AP exam in May (scored 1-5 by College Board). These are graded entirely separately.
AP Physics 1 is algebra-based and emphasizes conceptual understanding and experimental design. Classroom finals typically cover: kinematics, forces, energy, waves, electric charge, and circuits. The weight is usually 30-40% of your course grade — verify with your teacher's syllabus.
