Understanding AP Statistics Grade Calculations

There are two separate assessments in AP courses: your classroom grade (what this calculator addresses) and the AP exam in May (scored 1-5 by College Board). These are graded entirely separately.

AP Stats finals are unusual because the FRQs test written statistical reasoning, not just calculations. Classroom finals typically cover: data analysis, probability, statistical inference, and experimental design. The weight is usually 25-35% of your course grade — verify with your teacher's syllabus.

Quick example (30% final weight): Current 80% → Need >100% for A  |  Need 80.0% for B. A 20-point swing moves your course grade by 6.0 points.
