Government MBBS through the 15% All India Quota (AIQ) is competitive for General-category students here but achievable in later rounds; state-quota seats are realistic in several states, and BDS, AYUSH (BAMS/BHMS) and private or deemed MBBS remain solid options. Note the difference between "college access" above and "passing marks" — the two are often confused. The minimum qualifying (passing) mark NTA sets for counselling eligibility is far lower than 550, typically 107–145 depending on category. If a government MBBS seat is the goal, a focused repeat attempt targeting 600+ changes your options substantially. Prioritise Biology accuracy (the highest mark density) and convert partial Physics knowledge into full marks. NEET UG 2026 was re-conducted on June 21, 2026 after the original May 3 paper was cancelled following a paper-leak incident, and the result was declared on July 16, 2026 — ahead of NTA's own July 20 target — at the official portal (neet.nta.nic.in). Over 11.21 lakh candidates qualified out of nearly 20 lakh who appeared, with Aryan Gupta and Panshul Bansal jointly topping the exam at 715/720.
