At 580 marks you are looking at an All India Rank near 18,000-40,000. State-quota government MBBS is genuinely realistic in many states (especially for home-state and reserved candidates), while General-category AIQ government MBBS is competitive but achievable in later rounds. BDS and AYUSH government seats are strong, and private/deemed MBBS is comfortably within reach.
The jump from 580 to 620 is one of the highest-value moves in NEET: it can improve your rank by tens of thousands of positions because the curve is steep in this zone. Most of that gain comes from eliminating silly errors rather than learning new topics.

Note the difference between "college access" above and "passing marks" — the two are often confused. The minimum qualifying (passing) mark NTA sets for counselling eligibility is far lower than 580, typically 107–145 depending on category. Run a mock-test error audit: categorise every wrong answer as a concept gap, a silly mistake, or a guess that backfired. Closing silly mistakes alone often adds 20-30 marks. Keep attempting all 45 Biology questions, but tighten your Physics guessing using a break-even check on negative marking.

NEET UG 2026 was re-conducted on June 21, 2026 after the original May 3 paper was cancelled following a paper-leak incident, and the result was declared on July 16, 2026 — ahead of NTA's own July 20 target — at the official portal (neet.nta.nic.in).
