Estimates based on NTA data from NEET 2023, 2024 and 2025. Your score band is highlighted in the rank table below.
At 620 marks your expected All India Rank is roughly 2,500-6,000 - the top ~0.2%. Government MBBS is a strong possibility across most states through both AIQ and state quota, and you're competitive for several well-regarded central and state government colleges. Dental (BDS) at top government institutions is comfortably open.
From 620, the remaining gains are about precision, not coverage - you already know most of the syllabus. Each additional 10 marks now translates into meaningful rank movement within this competitive band, so consistency across all three subjects matters more than any single topic.
Rank estimate recalibrated July 2026 against current-cycle NEET consensus (PW.live, Aakash, Careers360) — the previous estimate (AIR ~18,000) was substantially more conservative than current published data for this mark range.
| Category | Govt MBBS AIQ | Govt MBBS State Quota | Private MBBS | BDS / AYUSH Govt |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| General / EWS | Competitive | Strong | Accessible | Strong |
| OBC (NCL) | Strong | Good chances | Accessible | Strong |
| SC / ST | Strong | Strong | Accessible | Very strong |
| PwD | Strong | Strong | Accessible | Strong |
AIQ = All India Quota (15% of government seats). Cutoffs vary significantly by state. Always verify with MCC and your state counselling authority.
Note the difference between "college access" above and "passing marks" — the two are often confused. The minimum qualifying (passing) mark NTA sets for counselling eligibility is far lower than 620, typically 107–145 depending on category. See the category-wise NEET passing marks table for the exact qualifying cutoffs.
The NEET formula is Score = (Correct × 4) − (Wrong × 1). Several attempt patterns can produce 620 marks:
| Attempt Pattern | Calculated Score |
|---|---|
| 155 correct, 0 wrong | (155×4) − (0×1) = 620 |
| 158 correct, 12 wrong | (158×4) − (12×1) = 620 |
| 163 correct, 32 wrong | (163×4) − (32×1) = 620 |
Scoring 620 with fewer wrong answers leaves room to grow by carefully attempting more questions. Scoring 620 with many wrong answers means your improvement path is accuracy, not volume — the Negative Marking Calculator shows exactly what your wrong answers cost.
| Subject | Max Marks | Balanced target for 620 | Required accuracy |
|---|---|---|---|
| Biology | 360 | 322+ | 89%+ |
| Physics | 180 | 148+ | 82%+ |
| Chemistry | 180 | 150+ | 83%+ |
These are rough minimums assuming a balanced distribution. Use the NEET Score Calculator for your actual subject-wise breakdown.
Lock in your strengths and stop losing marks to avoidable errors: time-boxed full mocks, a strict revision rotation, and a no-blind-guess rule on low-confidence Physics questions. If you are entering counselling, prepare a ranked college preference list now so you can lock choices quickly when your round opens.

Your score band is highlighted. Recalibrated July 2026 against current-cycle NEET consensus (PW.live, Aakash, Careers360). Bands shift 5-15% between years based on paper difficulty and candidate count.
NEET UG 2026 was re-conducted on June 21, 2026 after the original May 3 paper was cancelled following a paper-leak incident, and the result was declared on July 16, 2026 — ahead of NTA's own July 20 target — at the official portal (neet.nta.nic.in). Over 11.21 lakh candidates qualified out of nearly 20 lakh who appeared, with Aryan Gupta and Panshul Bansal jointly topping the exam at 715/720.
Now that the result is out, use this page as a cross-check, not a prediction: log in at neet.nta.nic.in with your application number and password to get your official marks and All India Rank, then compare it against the historical bands below to gauge where you stand. Because NEET has no normalization, your official scorecard is now the authoritative number for counselling — this page's historical bands are useful context, but MCC and state-wise category cutoffs (published in the weeks following the result) are what actually determine seat allotment.
