600 marks corresponds to an expected All India Rank around 12,000-25,000 - the top ~0.8% of candidates. State-quota government MBBS is realistic in most states, particularly for home-state and reserved candidates; General AIQ government MBBS is achievable at several institutes, especially in later counselling rounds. BDS and AYUSH government seats are strong, and private MBBS is comfortably within range.
600 is a genuinely competitive score, closer to government-seat territory than borderline. A 20-mark move to 620 still meaningfully improves your options — worth roughly 5,000-15,000 rank positions — and can open up better-tier institutes within the same government-seat bracket. Biology remains the most efficient subject to mine for those marks.

Note the difference between "college access" above and "passing marks" — the two are often confused. The minimum qualifying (passing) mark NTA sets for counselling eligibility is far lower than 600, typically 107–145 depending on category. The NEET formula is Score = (Correct × 4) − (Wrong × 1). Several attempt patterns can produce 600 marks:

NEET UG 2026 was re-conducted on June 21, 2026 after the original May 3 paper was cancelled following a paper-leak incident, and the result was declared on July 16, 2026 — ahead of NTA's own July 20 target — at the official portal (neet.nta.nic.in).
